Break in of rebuild

Is the verdict 25-1 for the break in period? Manual specifies to add 50-1 to tank if VRO is equipped, but doesn't say what to run if not.
Researching this has me all over the place..

If you have VRO and put 50-1 in the tank you are close to 25-1. Run it oily for 10 hours is the common recommendation although I have heard of some that cut that time down some.
