Bravo 3 shift

After backing out of slip today, when I shifted into forward the drive seemed to "bang" into gear instead of the usual smooth transition. Did not occur again and shifted multiple times to try and reproduce issue but could not. Any helpful hints appreciated.

bavo 3 drdrive thank you!

The "bang" into gear is likely the engine speeding up slightly before the shift. If it happens again, I would adjust the upper shift cable so that the forward shift occurs sooner relative to the throttle movement. The reason that adjustment is necessary is due to stretch of the cable. There is an adjustment procedure and gauge that is available is you want to comply with Merc specs. If you over do the adjustment, you will know it because your reverse shifts will not be smooth.
