Boat will crank, but won't start

We have a 2001 Chaparral. The boat sat for three years without use. The gas tank was emptied, but no additional winterizing took place. The boat basically was ignored and not tended to at all during that time. All basic steps have been taken...new spark plugs, new air filter and oil filter, oil, gear oil. The boat will crank but will not start. Any ideas?

Is this boat fuel injected or carbureted?

Does it crank if you spray it with starter fluid?

Did you change the fuel filter?

Check to see if your getting gas to the engine.

dump some gas in carb and try to start, if it fries then you have a fuel supple problem. if not then elec problem.
