Big Tiller Trim not working

I just installed a used big tiller arm on my 2008 Optimax 150. The trim button on the side of the motor works fine, but the trim button on the end of the tiller arm does nothing. Any ideas of what might be causing this or what I could look for? I haven’t had the motor in the water yet, I just connected the tiller arm today. Thanks in advance for any info.
 
Well I did a little troubleshooting today and took the cover off the tiller handle. For what ever reason, someone had previously disconnected the switch. I plugged it in and it works like a champ.
