battery isolator

Hi. I have a vintage 18 ft 1960's lifeboat with a cabin I made. Power is from a 1992 50 hp Johnson. ( spare is 15 hp Yam). I would like to install an isolator so there would be no chance one battery could discharge the other while I'm out in the middle of the St-Lawrence. Besides, right now, I only charge my accessories battery when docked. Both batteries are in the cabin. The one for starting is recharged by the motor. I do have a Sure Power 952 isolater but have no idea how to wire it up. Are there any diagrams available ? Or is this the right product ? Thanks for your time and gretings from Northeastern Québec.

The SurePower 952 is a diode splitter .
Power ( from the outboard ) connects to Terminal A and the two batteries connect to to terminals 1 and 2.
The outboard will then charge both batteries without the risk of one discharging the other.

Google easily finds the installation instructions.

An ACR ( aka VSR) will do pretty much the same job without the disadvantage of the voltage drop across a diode splitter.
