Hello all,

I noticed that my boat has been a little more stubborn to start recently. I took the spark arrester cover off and pumped my throttle.I noticed my accelerator pump was not squirting fuel into the carb. I manually tried to pump the accelerator pump linkage by hand on the side of the carb and it still had no fuel going into carb. where should I start to fix this problem. Im completely novice with this carb set-up. thanks for any help
 
First make sure you have fuel to the carb and that the float bowl is full. You can check bowl level by sticking a piece of wire through the small hole in the top of the carb - that's the bowl vent. If you have good fuel flow and the bowl is filling up, then it's probably time for a teardown, cleaning, and rebuild kit. It's not really tough on that carb but you do need to pay attention. You can find the kits on ebay or buy the Sierra at NAPA or online.
 
thanks for the help. im gonna check bowl vent when i get home and go from there. hope it does not
need torn down as the carb was rebuilt about a year and a half ago.
