aq125 engine will start sputtering when taking off.

last time i had the boat out was running good trolled with the engine running for about a hour went to take off and the engine started to sputter like it wanted to die and then when i tried to acelerate it felt like it was missfiring.i left the idle real low and limped it back to the dock.i can shut the engine dow and it will start right back up idles fine.what do you think it could be?

fuel good? fuel filter check? sounds like running lean. I'd see what the plugs look like?

I would check for moisture in the distributor. This time of year as the motor warms up it creates moisture in the dist. take the cap off and dry it well

Do you have a fuel/water separator? if not...it could be water in the bowl. Even if its not water in the bowl....its a REALLY good idea to get one anyway.
