"My stern drive wont go up by itself, i have to help it with a rope. It acts like it doesnt have enough power or "umph" to pull itselfup. I have the volvo penta 180 on a 1983 bayliner obesstion with a 350."

"thats your trim and tilt that lifts the out drive up and down, its controlled by a pump via a switch on the throttle, go to the manual sedction on this forum and down load your stern drive manual, it will splain it to you. also check the fluid level and maybe have air that needs bleed."
