alternator

I have a 98 Crownline with a 5.0. this past weekend the alternator went out do i need one from mercruiser or can i just get one from the auto parts house?

It has to be marine rated. Car alternators aren't. It doesn't have to come from Mercruiser. Here is a site to find the correct part number.
Select the engine/year and go from there. This site sells them. NAPA also can order one. eBay motors also sells them new.

You could have it rebuilt for a lot cheaper. There should be an Auto Electrical rebuilder somewhere in your town or even online.

DB electrical he is online or ebay i buy all my starters and alt, from him suto and boat..

Just make sure you get the right one wire wise ie: one wire, get a one wire one.

Call him or email him he is the rock bottom price guy quality stuff and you have to get marine you don't want to go boom do ya.
