Took motor in to marine shop because of a knock. Diagnosed # 3 cylinder at about 50 psi, was at 115 last time I had it serviced. I was told knock sound was piston slap. Mechanic said it's fried and time for a new motor. First I'm not in a financial position to buy a new one and second, if it hasn't actually hasn't blown yet is damage minimal enough to have the cylinder rebuilt? Anyone experience this issue? Thanks for any advice.
