Hi There,
I am wondering if anyone can explain to me how to adjust the shift linkage on my outboard. I had a new bottom end put on the motor 1.5 years ago and it didn't ever seem to be set-up exactly right. It clicked a little in Neutral. Now it will shift into reverse and run fine. But if I give it too much gas it will pop out. There seems to be an adjustment as it enters the lower end with a brass nut and a lock nut. I am assuming that the lock nut has to be back off but which direction do I adjust the brass nut? Up or down? Or does it function pulling two shafts together. If someone could help me out that would be great. I have a fishing trip coming up tomorrow and am hoping to get this licked so I can back troll.
