9r70c reverse lock

Am I missing something or are these motors always in locked position.I. Recently got this for running the river and kept my other motors with the lock/unlock feature unlocked due to the rocks.Don’t see anything in parts diagram that is filling me in on a missing part that I can see..?

So it's a 9.5, right? These have a manual lock and shallow water drive. Sometimes gets buggered up. Gonna take a good look underneath the transom bracket to see what's boogered.

Scroll through here. All the parts involved to give you an idea of what's going on. Tim or Racer will know better then me but I believe it has to be in forward gear as well??
Nevermind about the forward, the manual lock in the above post should have answered that for me...

Should lock in reverse, but unlock in neutral and/or forward. 70, 71, and 72 in this view are what does the job

In addition to what I just posted, parts 32, 33, 34 in the view posted by jay1234 complete the hook-up, and are the adjustment.
