I'll spare you all the details leading up to this question but here is where I'm at.
Leaking drive shaft oil seal
Seal Kit (PN 5006373 - ordered but not received) has single seal from 97 model parts list
Kit also has double seals for models that have 2 drive shaft seals
Bearing housing is the same PN for both models that have 1 and 2 seals
My Lower unit was replaced so not original and it has 2 seals in it. I do have the replaced lower unit (don't know if it is original or not since I hace only had this boat for 3 years)
So I have a choice - use the seal designed for single use or use the two seals for double seal installation??
Which is better?
