Howdy ladies and gents. I have a 94 175 hp black max xri efi. My mechanic said the voltage regulator was the worst hed seen in 20+ years. I was told the stator becomes faulty and frys the regulator. The current stator number is 398-9610a24... I cant seem to figure out which stators and regulators are compatible or must they be the same brand? Does anyone know if aftermarket is the best way to go? I know merc had some stator issues but I am not familiar with which ones. Any help gettin this beast back on the water is greatly appriciated!! Thank you
