"AohBoston.... If you're having the warning horn go off every other second, and the oil tank has plenty of oil in it, that usually indicates that the VRO pump is failing.

That engine (if memory serves me right) has two (2) VRO pumps. You can find out which one is energizing the warning system by simply unpluging the electrical connector from one of the VROs.

Do this..... Remove the oil line at the engine conection, pump some oil out of the tank into a small container by pumping the primer bulb. This is to insure that any air that might be in the oil line is cleared out. Reconnect the oil line and apply pressure to the primer bulb just one time.

If the alarm still comes on every other second, I would assume that the VRO is failing, and I'd suggest that you replace it.
