90 hp lower unit

Hello I am new to working on boat motors, but have been working on trucks my whole life. I need to rebuild my lower unit. are there any tricks that I should know or specialty tools I would need?the prop shaft was bent and the oil leacked out. I am putting in a new shaft and some seals.

Yes, there are some special tools, depending on how far you are going. I recommend that you purchase an official Honda Shop Manual. It will tell you what tools and step you through the process. Helm Inc is the distributor for the manuals. Do not pull the prop shaft holder out before you remove the water pump and the shift shaft. If you try...it will not come all the way out and two of the ball bearings that are in the prop shaft will come out and locate themselves behind the forward gear. They will be very difficult to remove.

In other words, follow the book. Do not try to shortcut.
