9.5 Evinrude armature frozen.

I have it all apart the problems I still have is the grease that was once good and free is glue. What is a good cleaner solvent to use and what do I use to re grease it? The other thing I have is mice got to the kill switch wires and I need to find a replacement preferably with a tether.

What armature are you talking about? Heat will break down the grease. If it's in an area where you don't want to use heat, I'd use PB Blaster. Kill switches can be picked up at any boat supply store. Bass Pro, or ordered online.

I used marine grease.
I was seeing replacement kill buttons prices at $100. Sorry but that's ridiculous for a pushbutton and I'm not a slave to oem-parts-only.
I found this on Amazon. It's the right size for the hole and tall enough for the plunger to clear the recess that surrounds it.

Yeah, those tiller motor kill switches are expensive. When mine went out, I just pulled out the choke to shut it off. I did that for years.
