86 mercury 45 hp no spark

my motor was running fine and when I slowed for a no wake zone it misfired. In a short time it stalled and I restarted several times and it would die when I shifted. I started my trolling motor and started in to shore. I started motor a couple of times on the way back but it would stall when I shifted. Now it has no spark. I tested the stator and it seem to be in spec. I also disconnected the rectifier and the kill switch. Does it seem the whole switchbox could have quit? also when I check my trigger connections they are supposed to be open but I get a few ohms of resistance. I would appreciate any suggestions?
