85 hp to 115 hp..Where is the difference?

Reading my OMC book on 92 85hp to 115 hp. All have same bore and stroke, same timing. Only difference externally I can see it that the 115 has the 'tuned' exhaust on it. So, why/how the 30 hp difference from the same block?

Sorry mate , you are not doing enuff research !--------------The 90 HP block has a different part # than the 115 HP---------------The difference being in the size of the intake ports !

I see...85, 88, and 90 the same...100 and 115 both different from others.

They " marketed " a GT 100 and Evinrude an XP 100.----------------This was really a 115 HP and believe it or not there is a desire to " sell " motors to the public that want to say " mine is faster than yours "-----------------It is marketing 101 !!!----------------------Also done with V-6 models.
