last summer i blew the cd pack in my 8hp evinrude and replaced it with a used one from a 15 hp. This year that one has given up on me now and i have discovered the 8 hp cd pack is the only one that has a 6800rmp limit. the 6 hp 9.9 hp and 15 hp have no limit. just wondering if i could use the no limit power pack .. it seemed like i was getting an extra 7 km/h out of my little boat with the little motor.
