75 HP Force will not fire up

This is my first time and I'm not sure how to ask a question so here I go. I have a similar problem where my idle control went out on the throttle. Then after adjusting the carb to get enough fuel to start the motor,me and the wife took a ride. I put it in neutral and it died,also my trim acts like it has no power. We paddled in and had to get a tow in the AM. I called myself checking the kill switch and it didn't seem to matter. The starter crank and spun the flywheel ,power tilt does not work.Good fuel. Any suggestions on where to start?
 
I couldn't get it to start again. The lights and radio work, the starter crank and spun the flywheel ,power tilt does not work, idle control lever is not working. Could it be in the controller, its a commander 2000 or is it possibly a power issue at the motor. I'm a novice but don't mind checking things out if I can.
 
might be some kind of short in your wireing harness... hmm try and test if you got power in your wireing harness
