75 evinrude 135

had to disconnect the choke because ii was always had power to it and would always burn up
replaced it 3 times, just gave up on it and manually set the choke
have any ideal why it stays hot all the time?

Those choke solenoids are very reliable !!!---------There is something wrong with switch / wiring.-------------These originally were " thermo electric chokes " in that they came on with a cold engine for partial choke.---As motor warmed they went off.--------Perhaps the switch at the top of the block is defective.---------When turning ignition to " on " the choke would come on half way. Operator had to use switch for full choke.----When engine started choke would stay on at halfway till " thermo switch " opened.----I am not standing beside your motor but that is how they came out of the factory when new.-------No telling what has been done to it by operators / owners since.

Properly set-up , in good condition a 1975 - 135 HP is a nice simple motor.------------But after several owners , possible tampering you need to find a grey-haired mechanic who can fix / trouble shoot them.
