6202 no throttle

this came with a boat i purchased. motor has issues with idling and has not high speed throttle response, i have cleaned and installed a carb kit, with no change. set jet at 1.5 turns to start. no response from engine when adjusted. thoughts on the issue? i am a mechanic by trade, outboards are my weakest

Sounds like it is running on 1 cylinder.----ost compression numbers here.----And does spark jump a gap of 1/4" or more on a test device , yes or no ?

compression is at 60psi on both cylinders. i do not have an adjustable spark tester. used regular tester and light would not light. pulled plugs and checked spark against block, both had spark that way

Need to see if spark can jump a gap of 1/4".----Plugs on the block is a waste of time.

i was able to get an adjustable spark tester. the spark does jump a 1/4in gap
