6.2 Liter High exhaust temp alarm

Overheating problem on 6.2 liter 2015 300. The engine temp would get up to 180 degrees and derate to safe mode. So far changed the water pump with the new heavy duty water pump, replaced the thermostat and gaskets, Removed the tail piece risers from the exhaust manifold and inspected for corrosion. engine appeared clean internally at the circulation pump, thermostat housing and risers. The pickup hose through the gimble was flushed with a garden hose and appeared to have no restriction. The existing water pump was very worn on the wear plates but the impeller was intact.

With the new water pump and thermostat engine runs at 156 degrees solid. When accelerated beyond 3000 rpm the exhaust over temp alarm appears and derates.

This engine has catalytic converters. The exhaust manifolds are hot. I did not have a temp gun but they were emitting alot of heat.

Could this problem be related to the catalytic converters or is it simply insufficient cooling flow to the exhaust manifolds?
