I have an 57 Evinrude 18 hp motor that for the life of me, I can't get started. When I got it, I replaced points, condenser, coils, rebuilt the carb, new fuel lines, set the points to spec. When I go to start it, plenty of spark, good compression (70 psi), no pop, no nothing. I've tried some starting fluid( very little), made sure gas is getting to carb. When I pull the plugs, they are dry. It seems that it is not drawing fuel into the cylinders. Reed petals are not stuck to plate and move with a slight finger pressure when checked. Any thoughts or ideas? My right arm size has increased at least 2 inches from pulling the rope starter.
