50a water spout obstruction

Went out on the river the other day and my spout clogged. So i took the hose off didnt see any obstruction fired her back up and still no water. Then i took the nipple that the hose slides onto off and there was a very pliable small piece of rubber seated perfectly in the back causing no water flow. Removed the lil bastard rubber piece and had great flow. My question is should i be concerned of the origin of the rubber piece or did it come from the river? I took a picture but can not figure out how to upload it. Im running a a1 lower jet.
 
I do not have first hand knowledge of the jet drive. Does it have a rubber impeller?

If so, then it could be part of an impeller blade.

If the jet propeller/impeller is metal and supplies the cooling water for the motor, then you may have just picked up some debris. It is not unusual to pick up debris in any case.

Im unsure if the impeller is rubber. Its still circulating water well. I just wanted to be sure it wasnt anything serious. I always run the river and suck stuff up so im used to that.
