4.3 litre merc removal from a 19'6" Wellcraft... are there any surprises or issues to know?

I am waiting on a manual but it will be a few days till it arrives. Have never hauled an engine out of a boat before. The stern drive is off now and am wondering just how I should proceed. Do the manifolds need to come off before the engine is out? Would seem easier on the stand. I do know my machine shop does not want to see them, but I will get them cleaned and tested. Thanks for any advice. Blu

Ayuh,... Good, the drive is off,..
Now, pull the big cannon plug, 'n any other wiring...
Then all the plumbin' hookups, gas, p/s, water, etc...
Then the rear 2 motor mount bolts, 'n the 4 lag bolts for the front mounts...
The manifolds can come off, before, or after the pull...
Hook up a chain, 'n yank 'er out...

The machine Shop will want Just the long block,...
All the accessories(carb, igntion, etc.) should be stripped before it's delivered...
