Hello all,
I have a 01 centurion with a 350 MPI Ski that run poorly at idle, and will not accelerate well.

This is what I have done so far
1 changed plugs
2 Replaced 4 broken injectors (they broke pulling them out Sent other 4 out for cleaning and testing
3. Replaced dist cap and rotor
4 stats computer showed bad MAP Sensor Replaced MAP
5 Running fresh fuel on a aux tank
6 Re flashed ECM They found no issues

Mercury Does not support this engine any longer due to being crappy

Thank you
Jeff

When I run into this situation, it's usually the temperature sender unit that doesn't 'know' the motor has warmed up.

Make sure that you don't have any vacuum leaks around the intake. All gaskets on the throttle body OK? butterfly moving freely? Did you do anything to knock the TPS out of whack?

If the fuel pressure is correct, when these MEFI engines run poorly and you cannot pinpoint the problem, change the pick up in the distributor. Especially if you have a two wire pick up. When these pickups start to fail they make the engine do all kinds of goofy things.

I have made it a habit to change these with a tune up.

That makes sense cz the pickup in these old batch fire systems incorporates the amplifier module. This is a cheap part, replace it if it hasn't been done. I would keep a spare on board.
