30 HP Johnson won't idle

I have a 30 HP Johnson which will not idle unless I seem to hold choke on and then still dies out. I pump primer bulb and it will start right up, but will not idle if I pump primer bulb it will start up but will stall out. If I repeat process same thing happens constantly. I'm at a loss any suggestions or help really appreciated.

Might be the fuel pump.

When did the problem start? Could be crap in carb. Model #?

Start with the carb. Smaller engines smaller carb passages, more restriction.
