3.0 omc valve setting

how do i adjust valve lash on a 3,o omc, i have been researching it and have found several different ways to do it, what is the best way?

best way is cranking it over with a compression gauge in the cylinder.

get the rocker to the place where tightening it decreases compression (valve hanging open)
loosen it to where it rattles loose.
split the difference

watch the comp gauge to verify you are in the zone

ok i can do that, just one question, do you do the intake first then the exhaust? i know this sounds like a real stupid question
