hello guys. I just put a new freeze out plug in the back side of 3.0 cobra OMC block. was wondering now I herd they were to use brass in them ,but however these were galvinized plugs. also i didnt know it but there were two freeze out plugs in the back side on block. Also I was wondering if I didnt upset the setting on the front motor mounts do I need to realing this thing? This is out of a 1988 bayliner capri

should be brass. Napa has the brass ones.
You should definitely align the engine with an alignment bar at reasembly.

This ain't the first time someone is replacing the CASTING PLUGS.

Ain't the front mount only, to worry about. Consider this, back mounts drop, transom with a little rot. Whats it gonna hurt to check the alignment besides the cost of the bar?

i didn't want to bring this up but a casting plug popping is a sign of something bad.

Bad, bad, bad. You got the motor pulled ? Start it on the crate, put water to the t-stat, and see where if any cracks are ? If all is good paint the whole motor and pan with 3-4 coats of paint.
