"290 DP transom mount is being swapped out and when I remove collar and then nuts from inside transom, what will support the aft of engine?

V-8 AQ271c (gm 350)

Appears that engine has two forward mounts and transom shield actually supports back of engine???

Also, does anyone have the #'s of the two bearings and seal to replace in the bellhousing tailpiece?

(So I'll have them on hand and not have to wait)

( I intend to purchase from a local bearing house)

"I'd get the engine out of my way. These are among the easiest of engines to remove.

If red one pc flywheel cover/double bearing:
#6206 aft in an Open Bearing
#6007 fwd in an Open Bearing
NO CHINESE bearings!
35x62x7mm in a TCM or Timken on the seals.

Pre-fill with high pressure bearing grease (not green marine grease), as you turn shaft until grease comes through bearings. Now install seals. Fwd seal must be glued in place, normal orientation. Aft seal reversed.
(if either were to blow out, it must be the aft seal)

Grease in the future w/ engine at idle."
