25hp Outboard lower end noise

Looking for some assistance as to "if" I have an outboard issue or I'm just being paranoid.

Before putting the outboard away last fall and getting it out this spring I started hearing a "whining" noise from the lower end after the motor is turned off.

I assume its the lower end gears continuing to spin after the motor is turned off.

I've changed the lower end grease but that looks clean. Should I be alarmed with the noise I'm hearing?
 
So you are going full throttle on the boat and turning the key to off ?----Yes you will hear noise from the gears.-----Or explain in more detail about this noise !-----Year , model # , 2 stroke or 4 stroke ?
 
I should have provided more details...

2013, 4 stroke, EFI, 25HP

The boat is sitting on the driveway with muffs on.
Run the motor for maybe 5 minutes(no more than 1/2 throttle)
Put the tiller in neutral(I think)
Then immediately turn off the engine.
When off, I hear a light whining noise from the lower end for a few minutes.
