225 lower unit seals - when to replace?

Motor has 800hrs (saltwater). Putting in my second water pump kit. Old one looks in great shape but replacing anyway.

I guess I have two questions:

1. Last time I just replaced the upper gasket and metal plate and did not dig into the lower part
of the housing to replace the two orings (see photo) for fear of disturbing the seals. Can I safely remove this and replace two orings if i don’t have shaft seals on hand?

2. pressure test holds 10psi happily so assume seals are ok but is there a schedule to replace the seals? Don’t see anything in manual and I’m guessing “wait for milky oil” isn’t the right strategy;)

Update - curiosity reigned and I pulled the lower plate and was able to replace the o-rings without impacting seal. Seal looked excellent but I would still love to hear any wisdom on replacement schedule.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to do a full reseal with those hours. The longer you leave those gesrcases alone the harder it is to dismantle and remove the propshaft bearing carrier.
