I am working on a 2007 305cid m/c mpi. The boat has 54hrs on it and was sunk. Engine has been completely rebuilt due to internal rust pitting, and was test run on muffs. With throttle only engine will take revs, but in the water under load I have to baby it up to 1600rpm and then it will cough and die if I try and feed it any more throttle. Does anyone know what the valve set procedure is on the newer stuff??? When building engine I went to contact, then 3 quarter turn past. After the first poor run, I pulled the covers, and gave everthing another 3/4 turn and it seems to be the same, or a little worse. I may have the wrong valve set procedure, or possible damage to electronic components due to the sinking. Any ideas would be great...
