2007 225 etec.ho old gas how to clean before starting

I just bought a 2007 etec 225 ho evinrude and it has not been ran for about 6-8 months
I did start it up for 20 seconds yesterday though
My questions are
How to remove old gas from tank and engine?
How long does it take for water to pee out tail?
How to tell if it is pumping oil?
Is the cowl that is between lower unit and uper cowl a sealed peace? Because the cowl is damaged from storm the peace i am talking about is the shaft cover
Should i do anything else before starting again?

I think your best bet is to take it to a dealer !!!--------------they will hook it up to a lap top computer and check everything for you.------------It can run / check the oil pump with the motor not running .-------------------------Money and time well spent !!!----------------It would be a shame to ruin a fine motor.
