Just went out to the garage and noticed a bunch of oil leaking out of the exhaust port close to the prop. I winterized the motor and its been sitting on its side as illustrated on the motor waiting for next season.
Any ideas what happened? I had no problems running it before I stored it?
Thanks

A 4stroke motor should be stored upright the way it's mounted on a boat. During transportation, motor can be leaned on one side temporarily only. If the oil is full or overfilled it will flow to the intake manifold and will drip down to any lower level part due to gravity.
There's nothing holding oil back from the oil pan on a Yamaha motor. You should put it on a stand and let the oil seats back to its pan. Check the oil level, refill if needed and start it (in a bucket of water) to see it starts up smoky and will burn off the excessive oil in the intake.
