I recently purchase a MFS8A3 that is equipped with electric start but had never had the battery cables intstalled. It had always been pull started. I connected the battery cables with ground to the engine block and positive to the solenoid. The engine doesn't crank when pushing the start button. I have checked the Lanyard switch, Neutral safety switch, and start switch and all check ok. I can jump the two main terminals on the solenoid and the starter cranks. Also, I can touch the green wire off the solenoid and it cranks. The 20 amp fuse to the panel is good. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
