2004 Merc 150 EFI Saltwater New Fuel Pump Issues

So we put a new high pressure fuel pump in the ole Merc today and now it won't stay running. Crappy part is it was running fine before that. We already had the pump and just doing some winter maintenance thought we'd go ahead since it was original. It'll start and run for a 30 seconds or so but dies on it's own after that then hard to start again. Any ideas? Did we miss a step or not bleed it properly or something? Thanks in advance for some guidance.
 
Did you accidentally bend the float inside the VST? Did you accidentally miss the seal on the output side of the pump and block it off?

Post the serial number.

It's definitely the HP pump in the VST. We forgot the upper seal that goes on the outlet nozzle. Found it still on the old pump. Will report back once we've fixed that. The old pump inlet screen was almost completely clogged with gunk so curious to see how it runs.
 
Yup that output seal missing was the issue. Starts and idles good now just need to get her out in the water now. Thanks for the input guys.
