2001 johnson 70 won’t idle

Can i increase the idle alittle so it doesn’t stall going from neutral to forward ??

To mention just put in a timerbase runs great now !! But doesn’t idle worth a **** i think it needs idle up alittle but don’t know how to do it little help would be great

I retired in 1991 so the design of your engine is somewhat foreign to me.........................

However, that is usually accomplished simply by adjusting the threaded trunion of the throttle cable where it is attached to the engine.
