2000 Honda BF90A Head Swap

Hey fellows,

I read up that my engine in my boat is the 1.6L civic engine with the head swapped from the dual overhead camp and 4 valves per cylinder to a single overhead cam and 3 valves per cylinder(2 exhaust, 1 intake). Is it possible to take the head off a civic engine and with some programming, wiring and fabrication to convert to EFI?

Not at all, nothing will fit properly. The engine is modified for marine use and completely different in head design.

Is a separate efi modification possible? Like using throttle bodies and multipoint to replace carburetors?

No mate, just buy the right motor

Surely there must be a way to convert a perfect healthy motor to efi with all the throttle body kits out there without having to buy a new for 15k… lol. Unless this isn’t the community to ask

Check all the unique parts on the Honda outboard compared to a car engine, like I wonder if a car block will run well when stood on end?
