" Temp sensor went off this summer under serious load. Shut it down. Went back out by myself and noticed little to no water out pee hole. Pulled lower unit and changed Impeller assembly. Put it in forward gear before pulling but when I went back with it, no neutral. It's stuck in gear.
Also, no water out pee hole.

" Sounds like whem you reinstalled the lower unit, you turned the prop shaft clockwise, which moved the shift shaft one tooth, hence your "stuck in gear" problem. You probably also missed the water copper water tube that goes into the water pump housing. Take the lower unit back off, make sure the remote control is in FORWARD gear, turn the shift shaft in the lower unit clockwise one tooth (while holding the driveshaft, turning the prop shaft clockwise, it should "ratchet"). Now put the lower unit back up into the exhaust housing, make sure the copper tube inside the housing goes into the water pump plastic tube, rotate the prop COUNTERCLOCKWISE to align the driveshaft splines, also make sure the shift shaft in the lower unit goes up into the shift shaft coupler from the engine and tighten up the lower unit. Only tighten up one nut for now, shift the control into all gears and ck and see if it is OK, if so, tighten all the nuts and bolts and HAVE FUN, if not, repeat the above steps till it is right. "
