Hello everyone, new to the forum. I bought a (new to me) Johnson 8hp 2 stroke. Model is J8REEM.
Telltale didn’t have any water coming out so I replaced the water pump and the thermostat yesterday. When I fired it up, she had a strong stream and seemed to be running good. After I had started it a few more times, it is no longer peeing. I’ve checked the line/hole for debris and it’s all clear. Kinda lost here and need guidance on where to go from here. I took the thermostat out and reinstalled it, and it peed again for the first start but not again.
I'm also not 100% sure I have the thermostat installed correctly. The pin side should be facing outward, correct?
