1997 5.7 L mercruzer

I have a 1997 bayliner capri with 5.7 mercruzer. Just bought the boat and used for a week and ran excellent, boat previously had low hours, approx. 50hrs. On the last day it started to stall when I tried to axcellerate. Would Idle fine and if I feathered the throttle it would go and excellerate fine and run fine at cruising speeds. Any thoughts of what I should look for? I've put about a tank or regular fuel throught the boat during the week.

Fuel/water separator clogged.
Carb gummed up.
Plugs-wires-dist cap and rotor.
Was the boat properly layed up for storage before you bought it?

Ayuh,... Sounds like Crud in the Carb to me...

Does the accellerator pump squirt a stream of fuel when you shove the throttle forward? If not then rebuild the carb.
