I am hoping someone can help. I recently purchaced this 40hp
Compression was good at 130 accross all 4 cyl. After only a few times out I've noticed it's extremely hard on gas. I suspect it out of tune but carbs only have the 1 adjustment screw. There are other adjustment on the side of the engine. Idle,. Trimming i belive. Anyhow. Can someone tell me where my starting point should be on all these adjustments. I suspect some have been played with as it ran rough and idle were very high when I got it. I got that down but I don't believe it should be this hard on gas. I don't drive it full throttle very much. 3/4 maybe and 6gal last only a few hours. This can't be normal
