1996 Mariner 115Hp ELPTO - problem with power

Hello

I have a 1996 115 Hp Mariner outboard and up until recently ran well. It starts fine and idles well. I can put it into FWD and it goes approximately 10 MPH however upon trying to go faster it does nothing. When in idle, I am able to increase rpm to full but it will not get there in "drive". Any thoughts to what might be causing this?

Do a spark and compression test. Revving in neutral means nothing.

Okay - so after compression test here is what I got:
(Top to bottom)
cylinder 1 127
cylinder 2 130
cylinder 3 130
cylinder 4 129

All checked out with spark test

Suggestions where I should go next?

Inline spark tester

Check all the carb linkages they like to break on them. Make sure all the carbs are opening. Best way to do a spark test is an open air tester so you can see it jump the gap.

Thanks I'll check the linkages. Not sure how to do an "open air test"–could you give me some direction on this. Thanks D
