1996 150 hp intruder cuts out

I can run my motor right out of the box runs great. Fish a little bit. Start it up idles fine. Start to throttle up its cut out at 1500 rpm. Did it again. Same thing 1500 rpm cuts out terrible the motor just sputters and coughs. Take engine cover off and air it out. Then it run fine. Shut it down then back back to the same thing. I had the carbs gone through. STarting to think some safety switch is not working? Any Ideas thanks.

It is running out of fuel. Does the squeeze ball go flat? Check the vent line. Loosen the fuel cap to see if it runs. Fuel line may be deteriorated internally.

Next time you start it up when it's hot, leave it idle for awhile and see what happens. Let us know.

I ve let it idle for 20 min. same thing
