1993 Evinrude 70hp Powerhead Compatibility

I have a 1993 VE70TLETS with a bad cylinder. I'd like to swap powerheads with a known good used one. I have a lead on a 1992 model 70hp fully dressed powerhead, would that be compatible? I ask because when looking up REMAN powerheads, they seem to specify 1989-92 & 1993-98 as being compatible years. If that is indeed the case, what is the difference between 1992 & 1993?

Some year had a different crankshaft splines , dont remember which year but sounds close

1988 used the coarse spline.-----1989 and newer had the fine spline.
