1991 Johnson 60HP Timing

After testing everything with a DVA, it appears I need to replace the timer base. Do I have to reset the timing after changing it? If yes, should I take it to an outboard shop or can I do it? Any help/info/videos is greatly appreciated.

Search for the Joe Reeves timing method. Worked great for me.
