Recently acquired a 3 hp Johnson 1991 Model (J3REIA) Spark and compression are good. I ordered a new impeller to install before I run it and will change gear lube. Anyone have any opinions on this model as far as quality? I also was wondering if there is a quick start manual available free online or someone could email me that I could read before I try to start it? I am a newbie at this so any opinion or helpful hints would be appreciated. i plan on trying to use it on a square back canoe. Fuel/oil mix I think should be 50:1, but starting out should I make it a little richer since it has not been run in a while? The prop is plastic. Is this normal or did it come with a metal prop?
